Tommie Sunshine Tells VIBE Why He Got Kicked Off Decks at W.i.P NYC (Vibe)
Tommie Sunshine was kicked off the decks while performing at NYC nightspot

Sunshine himself, bullet pointing what went down.
> It was a record release party for my remix of Faustix & Imanos "Ambulance"
on Strictly Rhythm.
Date was moved twice before because club didn't promote it properly.
Got stuck on the Brooklyn Bridge for (no kidding) 2 hours on the way to dinner
in the city before heading to my gig.
Dropped my Daniela at Mister H where she dances.
Then had to walk from Mister H to WIP in the rain because of no cabs.
I arrived & started to play.
I played as commercial as I ever play.
The "owner" started in at my second record asking for "more commercial music
with softer drops & more vocals".
Mind you the track the release party was for has NO VOCALS.
Then I was informed that they were "hearing from clients they weren't digging
it and thought it was too hard."

Forget the Fiscal Cliff. What About the French Wine Cliff? (Vinography)
As American politics becomes consumed with the power play that everyone is
calling the fiscal cliff, a far more dire and permanent disaster is looming
for wine lovers everywhere. I'm speaking, of course, of the impending French
Doubtless you've heard of the five-decades-long decline in per-capita
consumption of wine by the French people. Well it has just hit a new low.
As soft drinks, mixed drinks, and yes, even fruit juice has taken a larger
role on the French table at mealtimes, French wine consumption has dropped to
merely one glass per person, per day. And fewer than one in five French adults
claim to drink wine every day.
If that doesn't sound like the bottom of the barrel, simply consider that
fifty years ago, the French were drinking three times that much wine daily.
In the same period of time the number of bistros (the de facto location for
casual drinking) in the country has dropped from 200,000 to 35,000.
Do you see the disaster looming? It's significantly more ominous than the
$2000 per household tax raise that threatens to drive America into a recession
We're talking about the implosion of the French ...

Trillion dollar platinum coin (Econbrowser?format=xml)
Here's one of the wilder suggestions floating around for what the President
could do if Congress fails to raise the debt ceiling.
To explain the idea, let me begin with some basics on how the banking system
functions. If some day you were to bring that jar of coins sitting on your
dresser to deposit them in your bank account, the bank would credit your
account with the amount of the deposit, and you could then use those funds to
Similarly, your bank may have an account with the Federal Reserve. If your
bank brought some currency or coins in to deposit them with the Fed, the Fed
would credit their account by that amount. These deposits with the Fed are
known as reserves. A bank can use its reserves to pay for anything it wanted,
for example, by instructing the Fed to transfer those reserves to some other
bank in payment for an asset that the bank purchased.
The U.S. Treasury also has an account with the Fed. When you write a check to
the IRS, your bank's account with the Fed is debited and the Treasury's
account is credited. The Treasury ...
