Denny's Christmas Tree Set Aflame By Man Angry About Long Wait (Huffington post)

Nobody likes waiting a long time for food or a table at a restaurant. It's
normal, in that situation, to get grouchy. But one customer at a Denny's in
San Antonio allegedly got so upset when he was made to wait that he became
downright Grinch-y -- and firehappy.

According a report by local NBC affiliate WOAI, embedded above, the man set
fire to the Christmas tree in the I-35 location of Denny's before fleeing the
scene. Police are pursuing the arsonist, with the help of Denny's surveillance
footage, but haven't yet been able to identify him.

ABC affiliate KVUE reports that the man was upset because he had to wait too
long for his check. But given that he allegedly caused $150,000 in damage,
it's possible that the police have a much, much bigger check in store for him
when he's caught.

_Transforming A Late Model Mustang Into A Classic Hot Rod_

Blink your eyes and take another look. While all visual cues may be telling
your brain that you are staring at a near-pristine 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1
Fastback, it's all a carefully crafted illusion - a very clever façade.

Hidden beneath that glistening Yellow Blaze paint, below the sculpted
fiberglass and steel body panels, is a 2013 Ford Mustang GT. The retro-coupe
features power-operated sport buckets with lumbar support, ice-cold air
conditioning, six airbags and a full factory warranty. Lest anyone forget, it
also comes with a modern fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 generating 420 horsepower.

The team at Retrobuilt, out of Lamar, Missouri, is known for recreating

We've seen Christmas trees built out of spare car parts, discarded SCSI
drives, OLED panels, and quadrocopter stacked boxes, but Germany? Their taking
the old tannenbaum back to its roots -- and tweaking its genetic code. With
the aide of a government grant, scientists in Germany are trying to develop a
method of tree cloning suited to Nordmann Fir. The native pine is popular for
yuletide trimmings, but can be difficult to grow -- as much as 40 percent of
trees grown for the season wind up the wrong shade of green or have their
growth stunted by frost. Plant biologists hope to have a healthy stock of
cloned trees ready by 2016, assuming nothing goes terribly wrong. Perfectly
cultivated clones or not, we still prefer 'ol Chuck Brown's charming twig.

NBA Christmas Day Preview (Vibe)

Whether you find presents or coal under your tree on Christmas Day, the NBA is
here to give you a full slate of juicy games. The NBA Christmas Day schedule
is a doozy, with great match ups all over the place. Unlike last year, the
season isn't starting on Christmas. Instead, we're past the quarter pole and
starting to see which teams are contenders for the NBA title, and which ones
are a flash in the pan (with one notable exception, but we'll get the that).
